1. A load / three stages. Write Palmyra, the Euphrates and a port connected with maritime networks. Mark the change of carrier and cite the research source; this is a reading sketch, not an exact ancient itinerary.

2. A face / two sentences. Choose a hand, a fold or a letter in relief 2012.454. First describe what you see, then the museum’s interpretation. Keep probably if you discuss the book roll.

3. A date / two records. Give the arch photograph its 7 April 2010 date and UNESCO’s destruction notice its 5 October 2015 publication date. What can each establish, and what can neither tell you about today?

4. A question / one next source. Choose an empty statue bracket or a name on stone. Write a question, name the real source you would consult and explain why it is suited to that question.
