How we read
We explore the traces left by cities and people. Alongside asking when a building was made, we ask what it meant to those who used it. Everyday life, work and social memory belong beside monuments and famous figures.
A visible path to the source
Historical evidence and interpretation are different things. Each story points to its museum, excavation, scholarly or institutional sources. We distinguish legends from documented information and make uncertainty visible.
How we use images
The origin of photographs, historical objects and visual reconstructions is explained on the relevant page. AI visualisations are not archival footage or definitive reconstructions. Credits remain attached to material made by other creators.
Reading and discovery files
Start with a web story, follow an available video or explore a free worksheet. Full paid files are separate from public previews. A translated web page does not mean that an associated paid file has been translated.
