1. Horizontal / river: Describe a surviving quay feature. Separate what the photograph shows from what the port source explains about the vanished waterway.

2. Close / mosaic: Sketch a shape in the Jonah detail. Record the photo date, the mosaic’s historical phase and a religious interpretation as three different kinds of information.

3. Deep / layers: Choose the Roman house, apsed hall or episcopal rooms. Write its date, the visible evidence and one qualified interpretation from the source.

4. Compare / another city: Compare Aquileia with Ravenna or Ostia. Give one observation, one source link and a question about how a building or surface changed its use.
